Privacy Policy

How Clove Home Services collects, uses, and protects your information.

1. Introduction

Clove Home Services ("Clove," "we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting the privacy of our customers, website visitors, and anyone who uses our services, tools, or digital platforms. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

This Privacy Policy applies to all websites, mobile applications, tools, and services operated by Clove Home Services and any of its parent, subsidiary, or affiliated entities (collectively, the "Clove Entities"). By accessing or using any of our services, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information that you provide directly to us, information collected automatically when you use our services, and information from third parties.

Information you provide: When you request a quote, sign up for a service plan, contact customer support, or use any of our forms, we may collect your name, email address, phone number, mailing address, property details, and any other information you choose to share.

Information collected automatically: When you visit our website or use our tools, we may automatically collect your IP address, browser type, device information, operating system, pages viewed, referring URLs, and usage data through cookies, web beacons, and similar technologies.

Information from third parties: We may receive information from referral partners, marketing partners, and other service providers who help us improve our services.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to provide, operate, and improve our services, process transactions and service requests, communicate with you about your account and services, respond to your inquiries, send service-related notifications, deliver marketing and promotional materials (where permitted), detect and prevent fraud or abuse, comply with legal obligations, and protect our rights and the rights of others.

We may also use aggregated, de-identified data for analytics, research, and business improvement purposes. Such data does not identify any individual and may be used or shared without restriction.

4. Clove AI Bug Identification Tool

Our Clove AI Bug ID tool allows you to upload or capture a photo of a pest for AI-powered identification. We designed this tool with privacy in mind.

Photos submitted through Clove AI are processed in real time and are not permanently stored on our servers. When you submit a photo, it is held only in your browser's temporary memory and passed directly to our AI analysis service for a one-time identification. Once the analysis is complete and you navigate away from or reset the tool, the image is no longer accessible.

We do not save, archive, or retain submitted photos. We do not use submitted photos to train AI models. The only data that may be retained is the text-based identification result, and only if you choose to share it with us through another channel.

By using Clove AI, you acknowledge and agree that the tool is provided for informational and recreational purposes only and is not a substitute for professional pest control advice or inspection.

5. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to recognize your browser, remember your preferences, measure traffic, and understand how our services are used. You can control cookies through your browser settings, but disabling them may limit your ability to use certain features.

We may use both session cookies (which expire when you close your browser) and persistent cookies (which remain until they expire or you delete them).

6. Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information with service providers and vendors who help us operate our business (such as payment processors, hosting providers, and analytics services), referral partners when you participate in our referral program, professional advisors and legal counsel, and authorities when required by law or to protect our rights.

All third parties with whom we share information are expected to handle it in accordance with applicable law and this Privacy Policy. However, we are not responsible for the privacy practices of third parties and encourage you to review their policies.

7. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services. We may also retain information after your account is closed to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, and protect our rights.

When information is no longer needed, we will delete it or anonymize it so it can no longer be associated with you, subject to any legal retention requirements.

8. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, use, alteration, or disclosure. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of any account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.

9. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the use of your personal information. You may also have the right to opt out of certain marketing communications or the sale or sharing of your personal information.

California residents (under the CCPA/CPRA) may have additional rights including the right to know what personal information is collected, the right to delete it, the right to correct it, the right to opt out of sale or sharing, and the right to non-discrimination for exercising these rights.

Residents of the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and other regions with GDPR-style laws may have rights to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability, and objection.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the information in the Contact section below.

10. Children's Privacy

Our services are not directed to children under the age of 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.

11. International Users

Our services are primarily offered in the United States. If you access our services from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country. By using our services, you consent to such transfers.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Clove Home Services, its parent, subsidiary, and affiliated entities, and each of their respective officers, directors, employees, contractors, agents, representatives, vendors, and service providers (collectively, the "Clove Parties") shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, arising from or related to your use of our services, tools, or this Privacy Policy.

The Clove Parties provide all services and information on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. The Clove Parties do not warrant that our services will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that any information or results obtained through our services will be accurate or reliable.

You acknowledge that any reliance on information or results provided by our services, including the Clove AI Bug ID tool, is at your sole risk. The Clove Parties disclaim all responsibility for any harm resulting from such reliance.

This limitation of liability is intended to protect all Clove Parties and shall apply regardless of the legal theory asserted, whether in contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, or otherwise.
